“Golf courses are the primary
assets of clubs and courses, and playing on quality
turf should be a priority for all golfers. Funding
Pennsylvania Turfgrass Research Inc is an investment
in the well being of our courses.”
Jeffrey L. Rivard, Executive Director
Western Pennsylvania Golf Association
- Improve turfgrass quality by developing and
evaluating products, applications and turf varieties
to better resist weeds, insects, and stresses. Penn
State turfgrass varieties are the most widely used
seed on golf courses worldwide.
- Develop more environmentally friendly methods of
maintaining turfgrass, using less water and reducing
the use of chemicals and other materials.
- Strengthen Penn State as a national resource for
groups who depend on turfgrass professionals,
quality products and services.
- Insure safer, better turfgrass for sports such
as golf, soccer, baseball and football.
