Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council to Host
Northeastern Pennsylvania Turf
Conference and Trade Show
The
Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council (PTC)
will host its 2005 Northeastern
Pennsylvania Turf Conference and Trade
Show on Thursday, January 27 at the
Woodlands Inn and Resort, Wilkes-Barre.
Conference speakers will
include the industry’s top experts who
will highlight innovations and the
latest research in turfgrass management.
Pesticide update training required for
certified pesticide applicator license
renewal will be awarded for attendance
at specified educational sessions.
Throughout the day registrants can also
attend the trade show featuring
suppliers to the industry.
In addition to updates
from the Pennsylvania Department of
Agriculture and USDA, there will be
specific information on turfgrass
disease management, the use of
fungicides and herbicides and control of
weeds and leaf diseases. Carol Reese,
Extension Area Specialist Ornamental
Horticulture, University of Tennessee,
will present two sessions on landscape
design.

Registration will open
at 8:00 a.m., and the morning’s
concurrent sessions on topics of general
interest to the industry will begin at
9:30 a.m. The afternoon features a
specialized golf course session in
addition to another general session. The
conference is scheduled to conclude at
3:15 p.m.
The annual Northeast
Conference compliments larger events
held by PTC in King of Prussia, PA and
Monroeville, PA. Each event has an
entirely different program and
exhibitors. The 2005 Eastern PA Turf
Conference and Trade Show is scheduled
for Jan. 11 through Jan. 13 at the
Valley Forge Convention Center and
Radisson Hotel, King of Prussia. The
Western PA Turf Conference and Trade
Show will be held Mar. 1 through Mar. 3
at the Greater Pittsburgh ExpoMart &
Radisson Hotel, Monroeville.
PTC sponsors these
conferences each year in support of
turfgrass research, teaching and
extension.

The Pennsylvania
Turfgrass Council promotes
